New text
In July 2018, we launched the latest version of SDL Trados Studio, with a focus on user experience. But why focus on user experience for this release? In our research 50% of participants said they did not feel they were getting the most out of their CAT tool – so we wanted to make SDL Trados Studio 2019 as simple and easy to use as possible for the user.
With user experience in mind, Studio 2019 transforms how new users get up and running, helps experienced users make the most of the powerful features, ensures new levels of productivity for the whole translation team and helps in delivering unrivalled quality in your translations.
Let’s take a look at some of the exciting new features in SDL Trados Studio 2019.
Instant access to everything in Studio 2019 with Tell Me
Did you know there are over 700 commands and 1300 settings in SDL Trados Studio? That’s a lot of powerful functionality available to you.
With all these settings, commands and features, it can sometimes feel a bit daunting, especially when you are trying to find something specific. This means you could be spending a lot of time trying to find your desired setting or feature, when you would prefer to be translating.
Enter Tell Me technology. With Tell Me, you can access any feature or setting 4x faster than before. For example, if you wanted to change the font size, but couldn’t remember how to do this, the new “Tell me what you want to do” button (or ALT+Q) can help. Simply typing ‘font size’ will suggest the option ‘Editor -> Font Adaption.’ In one click, you have quickly and easily found the option you were looking for.
Thanks to Tell Me in Studio 2019, you really do have access to everything Studio 2019 has to offer. And it’s not just settings and commands you can access – you might also discover new functions and features that you might have not known existed.

Effortless Project Management
SDL Trados Studio 2019 introduces two new project management features; a brand new Project Wizard and mid-project updates.
With more and more projects being created and shorter deadlines requested, we wanted to make creating projects in Studio 2019 as easy as possible. The goal was to give you more time to spend on translating and less time on creating projects.
The new Project Wizard in Studio 2019 addresses these challenges. With the brand new Project Wizard, you can now create a project with up to 28% fewer clicks – you can even set up a project in one step! Check out the video below to see what’s changed in the Project Wizard.
Have you ever started translating a project and then you have been sent an updated file to translate? In Studio 2019, updating these files is now up to 82% faster. All you need to do is simply add the new file and Studio 2019 will match and process everything in the background for you to update the file. This update will also preserve what you have already translated.
It’s also easier than ever before to add files to existing projects, thanks to the new ‘Quick Add Files’ function.
